Ryotaro Horiuchi - Falling Waters
Artist’s statement:
“I stood before the waterfall, riveted by the sight of the torrent plunging down along with the pull of gravity. The water curled and changed shape, like some living thing. Never the same from one moment to the next, it roiled with energy, and in the face of its dynamism I clicked the shutter as though to seize onto film those instantaneous forms, those bursts of life too quick to catch with the naked eye. In reality the cascade before me rushed down with a deafening roar, but here, seized in time in these photographs, it seems rather to emanate silence.“
