How to use AdBlock to remove Sponsored Posts & Sponsored Ads

As some of you may have noticed, Yahoo started putting ads on our dashboard (more than just the sponsored posts, and the “radar”). It’s short and it’s divided in the middle, so you get two ads at once.

For those who don’t have or can’t use XKit’s “No Recommended”, or just don’t even want any indication that there even was a sponsored post on your dashboard somewhere, this is the option for you! Since they’ve introduced sponsored posts, I’ve never seen a single one - or even known they had been hidden to begin with.

Here’s what you do:

1. Click on the AdBlock button in your toolbar
   
2. Click on Options
   
3. In the new tab that pops up, click on customize
   
4. Then, click “edit” for the filters
   
5. Add these 2 filters, the first is for sponsored posts, the second is for the sponsored ads:
   www.tumblr.com##div.sponsored_post
www.tumblr.com##LI[class="remnant-unit-container"]

   That’s all there is to it! Enjoy your ad-free tumblr experience. And this is the kind that won’t be easily broken. In the case that it does… watch my page. I’ll post about it soon enough.
